The Story |
|
|
What fetches $2.5 million for a 30 second advertising
spot on Superbowl Sunday? What motivates companies to pay over $1 mil
a year to have a billboard campaign at Times Square New York? Why do
some advertisers pay up to $50 per click to advertise on Google? Why
would a company pay $550,000 for a full page spread in the Wall Street
Journal?
The answer to these questions is simple.
Because people talk about it.
GoldenSeconds was created as a NEW advertising medium for people to
talk about. A medium that would become not only a message in and of
itself, but also a highly effective advertising channel.
The web site allows advertisers to post various video clips along with relevant
marketing information. The starting per second bid amount is $1, however, advertisers
can increase this amount to improve exposure on the web site.
The types of video clips that can be posted on the site include commercials,
infomercials, music videos, movie trailers, short films, animations,
viral videos, political messages. For a list of constraints, please
ready our terms of use.
GoldenSeconds was started by Patrick Falls and Ricky Liunarto in May
of 2006. As self-confessed internet video fanatics, these two realized
that there was a lacking on the web of a place to showcase commercial
video footage. The goal of GoldenSeconds was never to create a paid-for
video community. Rather the purpose is to give advertisers a unique
commercial medium to be able communicate messages to consumers while
entertaining them.

it Works page for more information. |

About Us |

Ricky Liunarto, Cofounder |
|
|
Ricky Liunarto, 24, was born in Surabaya, Indonesia. Ricky lived in
Surabaya until August 2000 when he moved to California to pursue a degree
in computer science. In 2004 Ricky graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in
computer science.
After graduating from his undergraduate studies, Ricky decided to pursue
a master’s degree in computer science from his alma mater to gain an
expertise in database design and web development.
In an effort to apply what he was learning in his coursework, Ricky
decided to start a web site. After seeing a need for a hub for commercial
videos, he embarked on building GoldenSeconds. His goal was to create
the “fifth avenue” for internet videos.
Ricky has pledged to himself that any money that he makes from GoldenSeconds
will be applied to buying his family airline tickets so that they can
visit him in the United States.
One of the most exciting things about working on this project is being
listed on Wikipedia as the founder of something. When Ricky is not indulging
in his passion of database development, he enjoys watching movies and
football (round ball).

Patrick Falls, Cofounder |

Patrick Falls, 21, was born and reared in Westlake Village, California
to two loving parents. He is currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science
from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He is expecting to
graduate in 2007 and is learning everything that he can about computer
programming.
Patrick is involved in various organizations including the Association
of Computing Machinery. Patrick first realized his passion for computing
when he discovered his first ISP, Prodigy. He considers himself fanatical
about the internet and never ceases to be amazed by the fact that you
can stay on the internet for hours and not learn a thing.
When Patrick isn’t searching the web for obscure topics, he enjoys
Latin percussion, football (round ball) and collecting hats.
Patrick plans to purchase a new bunk bed with any proceeds that he
makes from GoldenSeconds. |
